How Many Bridesmaids Should I Have?

A wedding is real celebration of love, but it is also an organizational task involves a great deal of patience and responsibility. There are often hundreds of tasks on your to do list, but the truth is, it's not as easy as checking them off one after the other.

Consider the fact that most weddings are very much rooted in tradition and in etiquette. If you don't want to offend, you'll find that you need to take these rules into account. For instance, you are going to need to think about how large your wedding party is going to be.

First, people are usually chosen for the wedding ceremony because they are important to the bride and groom. The bridesmaids are present to support and prepare the bride for her big day, and the groomsmen act in much the same capacity.

However, the responsibilities of a good wedding attendant usually go much beyond the wedding day itself. A best man is usually going to be holding a bachelor party while a maid or matron of honor might well be running a wedding shower and a bachelorette party. These are all fairly large events.

Additionally, the bridal party may be responsible for creating a bachelorette party for the bride to be. The men do not have to worry about a shower, but the best man is typically in charge of planning a bachelor party for the groom to be. This can be a simple night out on the town or an elaborate Las Vegas weekend. Members of the wedding party are responsible for purchasing their own out fits for the event and for traveling to the wedding itself.

The wedding attendants may also have duties to take care of on the wedding day. These responsibilities will vary from person to person and wedding to wedding, but remember that one thing that you are going to have to keep in mind is that you are going to need to consider how many attendants you are interested in.

When you go decide who is going to be in your wedding party, remember that this is a personal decision. Deciding between close friends can be really tough. In general, most couples have between one and six attendants apiece, and then a flower girl and a ring bearer can be tossed in on top. There is no hard and fast number that you need to think about, so just see what feels natural and what will satisfy the needs of your wedding. This is something that you need to think about.

If you want a small and intimate affair then you may want to only have one or two close friends standing next to you for your big day. However, if you are having a larger and more formal wedding then you can actually have as many as ten or twelve attendants per side. However, despite the guidelines that exist you can still have the freedom to break those rules. Ultimately it is your wedding, and the only thing that really matters is that you are surrounded by the people who are important to you on the most special day of your life!
