Wedding Present Ideas To Help Beat The Credit Crunch

By: Tom Jones

If you have been invited or know a couple who are getting married, you will no doubt want to get them a gift to celebrate their special day. Traditionally wedding gifts were associated with providing either fundamental necessities for the couple to use in their new home or little luxuries which they may not have been able to afford themselves, irrespective of which the gifts were always material objects such as toasters, cutlery sets or towels.

Nowadays many couples already have these items and as such don not need or necessarily want duplicates! With the cost of all consumer goods remaining high it may seem for many people who need to buy a wedding gift a complete waste of money to give a gift which will be unused! This is not being mean or penny pinching, merely an honest opinion which for the most is true.

Finding a gift which will be both appreciated and enjoyed has seen an increasing trend to steer away from material household items and a move towards a gift which will be life enriching or purely sheer fun with memories to last a life time.

Another increasingly popular trend is for family and friends to join forces and treat the happy couple to a gift which would normally be too expensive for them to but alone. Gifts which focus on enriching the couples lives with trips at home or abroad are also used to help reduce the cost of honeymoons for many couples.

From exquisite 'once in a life time' trips to the Artic to spend a romantic dinner under the mesmerising Northern Lights or in the luxurious Ice Hotel in Sweden are among the many enthralling experiences being given as gifts.

Alternatively honeymoon style gifts spent in the UK would be equally well received. Staying in luxury hotels in the vibrant and cosmopolitan city of London, combined with a trip to the theatre to watch a wonderful West End show may be more fitting for a newly married couple.

London has so many landmarks and splendid tourist attractions, as well as some of the worlds most famous shopping opportunities, a weekend may not be long enough to fit everything in! To make the couple's experience even more memorable helicopter flights over the capital will provide them with a magnificent birds eye view of the famous landmarks or alternatively an evening dinner cruise along the Thames is a great alternative.

The key factor for family and friends to consider before selecting a wedding gift is to ensure that the experience not only suits their budget but more importantly includes aspects which they know the couple will relish and enjoy!

With the vast number of exciting options available it may be difficult to find a wedding present which everyone who has contributed to is happy with! The perfect choice maybe to buy an experience day gift voucher. This may sound very boring, however when it is redeemed by the couple on a life experience which they have selected it may be more apt and will ensure they get a gift which will be appreciated by both the bride and the groom!
